Healing vs. Rebuilding

The Difference Between Therapy and Coaching: A Journey of Restoration
While both therapy and coaching provide a safe, confidential space for growth, they serve different primary functions in your journey. Both are valuable tools that God can use to bring about your restoration.
Therapy: The Foundation of Healing
Therapy is often focused on the past and the internal state. It is a space designed to help you process deep trauma, manage clinical mental health conditions, and understand the "why" behind your emotional patterns.
-
-
The Spiritual Focus: Seeking God’s presence in the midst of deep wounds and finding the grace to survive the initial "little while" of suffering.
-
-
Analogy: A doctor cleaning and setting a wound so that the body can begin the natural process of healing.
Coaching: The Path to Being Established
Coaching is focused on the present and the future. In our sessions, we acknowledge your history, but our primary work is the "how"—how to live out your God-given identity, how to set biblical boundaries, and how to walk in the freedom Christ has promised.
-
The Spiritual Focus: Partnering with the Holy Spirit to restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you (1 Peter 5:10). We look forward to the "eternal glory" and purpose God has called you toward.
-
Analogy: A navigator helping you set your sails and chart a course toward the life God has designed for you to lead.
Discerning Your Next Step
Choose Therapy if: You are currently in a season of crisis, struggling with debilitating symptoms of trauma, or need to process the deep roots of your past with a clinical professional.
Choose Coaching if: You have reached a place of stability and are ready to ask, "How do I live 'unfiltered' for God's glory now?" You are looking for a partner to help you practically rebuild your life on a foundation of faith and strength.
A Holistic Approach: Many survivors find that these two paths work in harmony. While a therapist helps you navigate the valley of the shadow of death, a coach helps you climb the mountain on the other side.
